D#3,HW4, Topic Research

The main party of people that may be invested would be product developers of consumer goods. Since developers are looking to create the next big product, they spend a lot of time looking for the next wheel (big invention). So they’d want to understand the consumer behavior behind what makes a product a huge success. Psychologists would be interested in understanding this need to have the next big thing, the history behind this consumerism, what drives it. Economists and forecasters for each company would be interested in understanding this phenomenon as they try and figure out if a product will be a hit, how many they should make, and what they should sell it for. Even Wall Street analysts would be interested in this information because they are constantly revaluating the worth of companies, trying to decide if a company is going to be more valuable or if they’re losing steam. Manufacturers would be interested in this information because they would see the economic value of being involved in producing the next “big thing”. Professors of marketing, business and psychology classes could discuss this research with their classes.
