I do believe that I tend to over think when I write. I feel connected to what I write. I just have difficulty connecting to an audience. This is when I get frustraited, loose focus, of what I am trying to do.
If you are loosing connection with your audience step back every few paragraphs and re-read what you wrote. Think about if it conveys the message that you want to convey (a main part of connecting to your audience is making sure you are clear in what you was trying to tell them) also make sure to think about their intellectual level. For example... If you are writing to a younger audience, don't make them pull a dictionary out every few words. I hope that somewhat makes sense.
